Storing your files on the Network Print E-mail
As you log onto a Maxwell computer with your Maxwell computing account you will see a several networked drives.  Below is a description of each of the drives:

H Drive = Home directory:
Is for data storage only.  Executable files, MP3s, .dlls are purged periodically.  Your home directory is backed up nightly, data in your directory for 24 hours can generally be recovered if lost or corrupted.

M Drive = Classes:
This drive is for shared space that enables an instructor to post class information. The groups, Faculty and Domain users have read & execute permissions. The folder name should be the class dept. and number (e.g., PSC 125).

K Drive = Filer:
This drive is for academic departments and programs to share information between faculty, staff, and/or students. Each folder has group permissions.

P Drive = Projects:
This space is for academic projects. This can be shared space, but does not have to be. Examples would be large datasets or research projects.

Please DO NOT store files on any local C Drives.  If you do so these files will be viewable by any user logging onto that machine and these files will not be backed up.
