AirOrange, Syracuse University's high-speed wireless network, was recently upgraded to a more secure technology (802.1x), which provides an encrypted connection from mobile computing devices (laptop computers, hand-held devices, smartphones) through the airwaves to the SU network. Additionally, the wireless network is now available in all University residential facilities, South Campus apartments, and in many University buildings located both on and off campus. To use AirOrangeX, clients must first configure their laptop computer for 802.1x technology. Follow these steps the first time you use AirOrangeX:
IMPORTANT NOTE: University guests and campus visitors cannot connect to AirOrangeX. Guests and visitors may connect to the wireless network through the AirOrange Web access at http://airorange.syr.edu/.
