Notice to Maxwell Students using MyMail Print E-mail

The University is in the process of migrating the entire faculty, staff, and student populations to a new centralized email system using Microsoft Exchange Server.  Until the migration is complete, students are still provisioned an email account on the MyMail system.

We recommend that all Maxwell students use the Exchange mailbox and decommission their MyMail accounts.

MyMail UpdateCurrently due to technical constraints, there is no way of automating this process, but each student can use the following instructions to route new MyMail addressed email to their Exchange mailbox.  Once completed, all new email will be routed to your Exchange mailbox, which is essentially your maxwell.syr.edu and syr.edu mailboxes combined into one. 

You can access your Exchange mailbox by logging into any of the public labs and opening Outlook.  You can also access your Exchange email via the web at https://exchange.syr.edu.  Help with laptop configuration is available Monday through Friday between 1pm and 3pm at the Help desk located in Eggers 34.  Extended Help Desk hours of 11am - 4pm will occur between Monday, August 20th and Friday and August 25th; and between Monday August 27th and Friday, August 31st.

To forward your MyMail email to your maxwell.syr.edu email:

  1. Go to http://netid.syr.edu , click on the “Manage my NetID” link and log in.
  2. Click on the “change your syr.edu” delivery.
  3. Change the email to forward to This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it    (where “yournetid” = your NetID). This will cause all mail addressed to This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it to go to your exchange mailbox.
