Email forwarding

Account basics:
Your @syr.edu mail account and your @Maxwell.syr.edu accounts are 2 separate email accounts. When you are at the Maxwell School and you check your email using Outlook, you are checking your @Maxwell.syr.edu email.

Your Maxwell email can be forwarded to another account. This will forward any emails that originate outside of the Maxwell complex to the other account. The emails that originate within the Maxwell complex cannot be forwarded; they will reside on the Exchange server. To have emails from within the Maxwell complex forwarded, your Maxwell email account needs to be deleted.

Changes to your @mailbox.syr.edu email account:
Your @syr.edu email resides on SU’s SUNIX system. If you want your @syr.edu email to be forwarded to your @Maxwell.syr.edu email account, you need to email This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it with your request.

In the request, you need to indicate your mailbox account name as well as your Maxwell email address where you want the email forwarded.

Changes to your @syr.edu email account:
By default, your @syr.edu email address is sent to your mailbox.syr.edu account. You can redirect your @syr.edu email to another email address using the CMS change form at:
